Bliss

On my way back from London, I stopped by Singapore for a couple days to visit my boyfriend, who works there. Since this probably will be our last "holiday" together in a while, we decided to treat ourselves to a staycation - a night on Sentosa Island, a touristy, resorty area in Singapore filled with beaches, restaurants, a casino, and Universal Studios.

Considering it was a one night treat, we spent a little more than we normally would and chose the W hotel. Both of us were giddy over the beautiful room and thoughtful touches of the hotel. In particular, I was so excited to see our bathroom stocked full of Bliss skin care and body care products that I probably would never have tried:

Soapy Suds Body Wash + Bubbling Bath
This felt mediocre as a body wash, but brilliant as a bubble bath. A teeny bit went a long way! I only wish this came in a nicer scent - to me the lemon in this smelled a bit like the typical dish-washer scent.

Fabulous Foaming Face Wash
I've never seen any other hotel provide face cleansers, how thoughtful! After a long trip to Singapore, my skin was in need of a deep clean, so I was glad that this is a 2-in-1 cleanser and exfoliator. This gel-like formula effectively washes off all my makeup, however the sparse exfoliating beads do not feel sufficient to deep clean my skin. Also the product name seems a bit misleading as it does not really foam up that much. Scent wise, this smells like cola gummy candies... which I can see annoying some people, although I kind of like it. Anyone else a cola gummy fan?

Lemon + Sage Body Butter
This is my favorite product out of all 3. It goes on a similar consistency to Body Shop's body butters, sinks into skin quickly, and leaves skin velvety smooth. The only downside for me was that this also had the typical lemon dish-washer type scent, similar to the body wash.

These are all available in full size at Bliss counters and Sephora stores.

Last but not least, a few Instagram shots of our weekend:

  6. Sounds like you had such an amazing time! The pool looks incredible :) And what a luxury to have Bliss samples in the hotel! I've always wanted to try more from that brand... I had a couple of samples of their products from Sephora a looong time ago, and I remember enjoying them!
