I knew this one had to come home with me the moment I swatched it. It's the Dior Addict Extreme Lipstick in "Lucky."
The word "extreme" scared me initially because it made me think of highly pigmented, in-your-face colors which I don't typically wear. When in fact, the Dior Addict Extreme line is just an intensified version of their sheer, hydrating Dior Addict lipsticks. Compared to the louder Rouge Dior line (which features this ad campaign with the gorgeous Natalie Portman), the Extremes are still sheerer, more toned down, and easier to wear.
From what I saw at the Dior counter, "Lucky" is the brightest shade among the bunch. I love how it uniquely sits right on the fine line bordering pinks and reds. In most lights it's a bright, blue-based hot pink, but sometimes, it comes off as a classic cherry red. And despite the supposedly amp'ed up formula, the product goes on almost jelly-like and can still easily be sheered out or intensified as desired. Perfect for girls like me who are gradually venturing out of their "my-lips-but-better" comfort zone of lip colors.
Like all Dior Addict lipsticks, it goes without saying that the formula is hydrating. I find "Lucky" to be semi-glossy and very comfortable to wear. Staying power is decent and the bright red leaves a flattering stain as the product wears off. And did I mention it makes my teeth look whiter?
I think this may be the perfect holiday season lip color for me. And as its name suggests, I'm hoping it'll be my lucky charm too!
