3 lip gloss reviews in a row... can you tell I have a problem?
Today is Chinese New Years Eve, a busy day of cooking, flower arranging, house decorating, and last minute cleaning. I still have not decided on what I'm wearing tomorrow, but it'll most probably be something red, since it's all about the reds and golds for Chinese New Year.
Speaking of reds, I'm obsessed with the Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss in "Fatal Apple." Adorable Snow White reference shade name aside, it's the perfect everyday sheer red. I love an opaque red lip like the Bite Beauty lip pencil in "Cranberry" or Origins Liquid Lip Color in "Hot Date" for nights out or special occasions, but they're a bit too eye-catching for casual days. I've been missing a sheerer cherry red in my collection, something that's still bright and festive, but not too much for my relatives to handle at our New Years family gathering tomorrow. Because after the typical "when are you getting married" and "explain to me again what do you do for a living," I won't have the energy to handle an extra "what's with your lips?" Fatal Apple has now filled that void.
Fatal Apple ticks all the lip gloss boxes for me - it's glossy, it's sheer red, it's wearable. It's that classic red that can brighten up a pale, bare face, but also compliment a smokey eye. It's not sticky, which is another plus, and has a very faint, unoffensive sweet scent. The only downside is that it's not too long lasting, but I can live with re-applying this beaut a few times a day.
How do you like your red lip products - sheer or bold?
