Long Overdue Purchases

Sometimes I want products I know I don't need (Dior Rosy Glow blush, Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in "Cherry" and Chanel Les Beige, to name a few) - and apart from a few exceptions (*ahem* guilty impulse purchases), most often they'll forever stay on my not-now wishlist. Then there are other times I sample or read about a product that I know I'll get a lot of use out of, and I'll instantly add it to my to-buy list. I recently made 3 long overdue purchases - they topped my to-buy list for the longest time and I'm glad that I've finally brought them home!

Being a huge lip balm junkie, I can't believe I have not heard of the Lanolips line till recently. I've been running low on my original Fresh Sugar Lip balm and Clarins Instant Lip Perfector, and the Lanolips 101 Ointment seems like a good combination of the 2 (the moisture of Fresh plus the glossiness of Clarins). After having stopped and stared at the gorgeous Lanolips display in stores multiple times, I finally decided to bite the bullet and bring this baby home. I'll write a full review on this once I try it out a bit more.

I recently sampled the Aesop Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque during a bad skin week and absolutely loved it. It works great as an overnight spot treatment but also gives skin an effective yet mild deep cleanse when used all over. I like that it's not as drying as my Fresh Umbrian Clay Mattifying Mask. I had been meaning to pick up the full size for a while now, I only wish it came in a mess-free squeezy tube like the Parsley Seed Mask.

Last but not least, I've finally run out of my favorite Laura Mercier Mineral Powder (review), one of my best 2013 makeup discoveries thanks to Ellie. Finishing up an entire tub of loose powder is quite a proud moment I must say. After a week of desperately trying to tap out the last few specks of product, I'm dipping into this new one tomorrow morning!

What's on your to-buy list?

  1. The Laura Mercier Mineral Powder is SO GOOD, I absolutely love it :)) Although.. have you heard of Lily Lolo? They make wicked mineral foundations and it's just as good as the Laura Mercier brand except a third of the price!

  2. Ahhh the Laura mercier mineral powder has also been my most loved in 2013 :) best discovery because i find that it just looks so natural and radiant on my skin despite it being a powder :) So easy to work with too! Recently i have heard so many great things about the Aeosop mask and i have been wanting to try it soon~ Hopefully i'll get my hands on it soon.

Thank you for the post! The Caudalie beauty elixer is on my purchase list! <3

  3. I've had my eye on the Mineral Powder for quite sometime, but with a recent paycheck and I month of not buying any goodies (I don't know what happened....) I think I'll pick one up. I also need a replacement of the Aesop Parsley Seed Mask, but I'm considering trying this one, instead. xo

  16. I really *want* to buy one of the new Tom Ford lip sheers in Paradiso, one of the new Nars Final Cut selections... and maybe a new nail polish to boot.
I really *need* to buy... pretty much nothing. I haven't hit pan on anything recently so it'll be a long time before I have legitimate reason to shop. Ah well, till then I"ll live vicariously through the other beauty blogs :)

Anticipating your lanolips review since I take lip balm veryyyy seriously :)

  21. i bought mine in HK at Joyce beauty, the exclusive seller here in hong kong, but now that you mention i don't think i've ever seen it in the US either. since it's an aussie brand i think online is probably your best bet :) x

  22. hehe i take lip balms very seriously too, high 5 to that! ;)
next on my wishlist is the NARS eyeshadow primer and eyeshadow duo in "charade" i think... i've been eyeing both for some time now. the primer is more justified but the eyeshadow duo is definitely an unnecessary purchase!

  35. I just purchased the eyeshadow duo in Charade. Unnecessary? Yes. Perfect? Also yes. I have used it nearly every day since I purchased it and they are the two most perfect colors together. I don't regret it at all. When you finally get your hands on it, you will love it. I promise.
