It's Monday evening, but since we're enjoying a four-day long weekend here in Hong Kong, I consider this Weekend Post on time ;)
My sparkly red nails kept me feeling festive all week long. I am not sure of the shade names (I did a plain red base with a coat of red/gold sparkles on top) since I had them done at a salon, but the classic sparkly red is probably my favorite way to wear the festive color during the New Years (my all-time favorite sparkly red polish is SpaRitual "Spellbound"). I've been pairing these sparkly red tips with my Revlon "Fatal Apple" gloss that I blogged about this week.
I baked 70 cupcakes for a charity New Years dinner on Monday - it's both fun and gratifying to bake such a huge batch of cakes and know that they'll all be consumed! To make the cupcakes look festive, I wrote the Chinese character "Fu" on the cupcakes, which means "blessing and good fortune." The cupcakes were a hit, but I am slightly embarrassed by my poor Chinese calligraphy! The rest of the week after that went by way too quickly. Most of my free time was spent preparing for the New Years, which included MORE house cleaning, wrapping homemade dumplings, and another trip to the flower market. I discovered these tiny Chrysanthemums at the market that look like baby sunflowers - aren't they the cutest?
Last but not least, thank you for all you ladies who entered my giveaway and left me lovely comments. Since I reached another milestone while the giveaway was live, I've decided to pick out 2 lucky winners instead of just 1. Both will win the same items I blogged about in the original post, except if the exact makeup pouch and notebook are no longer in stock (I'll find out tomorrow!), I'll choose different (but equally adorbs) styles for the 2nd winner. And the 2 lucky ladies are... *drumroll*
Congratulations Jennie and Carla! I'll e-mail you both shortly.
